The English Riviera BID Company has announced the winner of the ‘Brixham in Images’ Photography Competition 2025 - a celebration of the fishing town’s natural beauty, vibrant harbour life and strong sense of community.
After receiving an outstanding 506 photography entries from across the UK, the public has voted Brixham local, Daniel Mason, as the overall winner for his image which perfectly captures an incredible sunset at Breakwater Beach, Brixham.
The competition, launched by the English Riviera BID Company earlier this year, invited residents, visitors and photography enthusiasts to share their favourite moments and views of Brixham, from its working harbour and colourful cottages to its dramatic coastline and hidden coves. The result was a visual showcase of the town’s character and the wider English Riviera, recognised as one of the most photogenic destinations in the UK.
Carolyn Custerson, CEO of the ERBID Company, said: “Brixham is one of the true gems of the English Riviera, and this competition has captured exactly what makes it so special. The quality and creativity of the entries have been exceptional, and we’d like to thank everyone who took part for sharing their vision of our beautiful region.”
The winning photograph was voted for by members of the public on the ERBID Company’s Facebook page, and will be featured in future marketing campaigns, alongside a curated selection of shortlisted entries that showcase the character and charm of Brixham through the seasons. Winner Daniel has also won a £500 cash prize.
In its first year, the ‘Brixham in Images’ competition forms part of the ERBID Company’s wider strategy and ongoing commitment to highlighting Brixham as a vibrant, year-round coastal destination, celebrating local talent and the area’s extraordinary natural environment.
