Devon couple found dead from gunshot wounds named

Police have named a husband and wife who were found dead at a property in Exmouth last week.

John Perkins, 66, and Kathryn Perkins, 67, were discovered at a home in Briar Close at around 6:30pm on Wednesday 7 May, following reports of concern for two people's welfare.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that both had sustained gunshot wounds. Two licensed firearms were recovered from the property and have been seized.

Kathryn’s death is being treated as suspicious. Police said the two deaths are linked but that they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.

A voluntary referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, in line with standard procedure for matters involving firearms licensing.

The couple’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
