The Torquay cenotaph stands proudly lit up to remember the fallen at this of the year.
It is all part of Operation Candlelight, a nationwide initiative to place candles on War Memorials over Christmas to remember those who were not able to spend Christmas with their loved ones and those serving today who cannot be home for Christmas.
The aim was to light up the UK on Christmas Eve.
Kevin Foster, who has attended many Remembrance services as Torbay's former MP, took the Cenotaph picture.
The Torquay Royal British Legion and some members placed the candles at the Princess Gardens on Torquay seafront.
Special Christmas Operation Candlelight tributes were made across Torquay, including the Home Guard memorial on Corbyn Head, memorial stones at Torre Abbey and memorials in Torre and St Marychuch churches. Pictures were supplied by the Torquay RBL
