Wife of television star, John Nettles, of Midsomer Murders fame, is part of a female art collective hosting a three-week exhibition this September in Torquay, Devon. Kathy Nettles, a fine art painter from North Devon, is joined by Dartmoor sisters, Jane Hirst, a plein-air painter, and Ali Hirst, a contemporary potter, in a show titled ‘Landscape, Stems, and Form’.
In what might be retitled as an episode of ‘Late-summer Makers’ the three bring their diverse styles and techniques to create a harmonious and deep-seated look at the natural world inspired by the flora and fauna of Devon.
‘Regardless of their varying mediums, their shared passion for nature and local landscapes binds them together, creating a collective voice that is as resonant as it is diverse,’ said a spokesperson for Artizan Gallery, where this significant show takes place between September 17th to October 5th. It would seem, in the sentiments of Midsomer Murders, simply criminal to miss it.
