Murder at the Highland Castle
Introducing First Draft Books
A new Torbay bookshop has chosen the ideal day to launch a new book by a best-selling author.
First Draft Books, a new independent bookstore for curious readers in South Devon, are hosting the launch of Brixham author Helena Dixon's latest internationally bestselling Miss Kitty Underhay mystery, Murder at the Highland Castle, as part of the Lanterns, Lights & 'Luminations festivities on Friday, November 24.
Helena will be at the First Draft Books' stall on the Brixham Quay between 4pm and 5pm signing copies purchased onsite.
“Through our bookshop, we aim to bring together the thriving community of writers and readers in South Devon, so it is our pleasure to host Helena and celebrate her newest book with the people of Brixham,” Leslie Leggett, Owner of First Draft Books.
Helena said: “It’s always wonderful to meet readers and First Draft Books always has a wonderful selection of books which would make brilliant Christmas gifts.”
Murder at the Highland Castle is described as 'an utterly addictive and gripping historical cozy mystery'.
A majestic castle by a Scottish loch, a glass of whisky by a roaring fire, stockings hung by the chimney… and a body - it’s a midwinter murder for Kitty Underhay!
Helena lives in Brixham. Married to the same man for over 38 years, she has three daughters, a cactus called Spike, and a crazy cockapoo.
She says she is allergic to adhesives, apples, tinsel and housework.
She was the winner of the RNA’s Romance Prize in 2007 with Marrying Max, and Love Story of the year in 2010 with Animal Instincts.
Things to Do also won the US ecataromance prize for best contemporary romance.
She now writes historical 1930s set cozy crime.
