Bunting and birthday tree as Paignton Library celebrates 10th year

Paignton Library and Information Centre celebrates its 10th anniversary on Sunday.

Originally a car park, the area was transformed into the current multi-purpose building.

It now houses the library, Café Cosi, Torbay registrars, self-service Connections zone, Paignton Carers and Torbay Healthwatch.

Over time it has become a community hub with meeting rooms hired out to a range of groups and organisations.

The building is owned and managed by Torbay Council, with the library run by the charity Libraries Unlimited.

Although normal celebrations are not possible, staff have put up bunting and a birthday tree.

Library members have been asked to write down their memories of the last 10 years and hopes for the next 10 and a display of photos shows how the library was built.

Visitors can add their comments and while visiting, check out the range of services. Libraries Unlimited is a registered charity (1170092) responsible for running Devon Libraries and Torbay Libraries. Libraries Unlimited is registered with the Fundraising Regulator.
