Brixham's Church community is holding an online service today celebrating and thanking everyone working in the retail sector and tradespeople who have continued to serve us through the pandemic despite abuse and risk.

The Worship For All service organised by All Saints' Church, Brixham, will be live on Facebook at 4pm today (Sunday, March 21) but available as a recording on Facebook afterwards too.

Organiser Elisabeth Lakey said: “As we heard recent media reports that shop workers who are getting much more abuse from the public, with 90 per cent saying they have had abuse - verbal and some actual physical - in the past year we really wanted to thank them and pray for that to change.

“Our service will include interviews with people who have experienced working with nice and not-so-nice customers, and prayers for shop workers, business owners, tradespeople; mechanics, plumbers, electricians etc. We want to thank all the tradespeople of Brixham for serving us through this challenging year.”

The live online service will be on the Brixham Mission Community Facebook page. The service will also be available on the Facebook page to watch any time after the live broadcast has finished.
