Deliveries from Ben's Bakes in Hyde Road, Paignton, have been made to keyworkers at NHS premises across the Bay, including Torbay Hospital, the health and social care team at Kings Ash House in Paignton, ambulance crews and Brixham Hospital.

Ben's Bakes became an online business as the Covid-9 lockdown came into force - with cake lovers in Torbay and South Devon snapping up cake boxes within minutes of them going on sale at 4pm every day.

But while they were buying their own cakes and sweets, customers were able to donate to a fund for the NHS deliveries – with Ben's Bakes delivering the cakes to different NHS teams.

A spokesman for Ben'a Bakes said: 'Customers were able to make a donation and we delivered big batches of cakes from the people of Torbay!'
