Here’s your chance to make a name for yourself in the pandemic – for the best of reasons.
The Great Big Art Exhibition was announced a couple of weeks ago.
It’s the brainchild of Firstsite, a Colchester-based arts organisation part of the Tate Plus network, and the aim is to get Britain creating during isolation with the ambition to deliver ‘the largest exhibition ever staged.’
Over a total of 100 days and across the UK balconies, gardens, windows and roofs will become gallery walls for fortnightly themed exhibitions, with creative packs curated by museums and galleries to get the UK public inspired.
Julie Brandon, from, the Artizan Gallery in Torquay, said: “We’ve jumped in feet first in the hope that we might get folks across the Bay and wider Devon area taking part and showing why the English Riviera is the destination for creative inspiration.”
They have started the ‘Devon Collection’, an archive of all the contributions coming in from the region that will draw together the art in a virtual gallery.
