Torbay Gilbert and Sullivan Society are set to stage The Mikado - one of the most popular of all the works of Gilbert and Sullivan and great fun to perform.
Last performed by the society in 2012, there will be some updating this year as the society likes to keep its performances fresh and exciting.
The society is looking forward to welcoming some new members for this production and would love to hear from people who like singing and would like to join them.
They are a friendly group and have excellent professionals on board to help to learn the songs.
Gilbert & Sullivan music is very singable and they have music available for new members.
The society meets in Torquay on Monday evenings and has vacancies for singers at all levels.
Auditions are only held for anyone who is looking for a principal role as casting for this year's production is not yet complete and they would love to hear from anyone interested.
In addition to the main production, the society presents concerts at various times throughout the year.
The society was formed back in 1972, originally as an appreciation society of Gilbert and Sullivan but due to popular demand soon found itself performing the various operas.
The upcoming production of The Mikado is booked into The Little Theatre, Torquay, from July 12-16 so rehearsals are about to start.
