Brixham Gig Rowing Club, based on the slipway near Brixham Breakwater, are a rowing club that rows traditional Cornish Pilot Gigs. Our rowers row recreationally and competitively. Rowing is an excellent form of physical exercise and is also extremely beneficial to one’s wellbeing. It is also a terrific way of making friends.
Whilst the club has a good number of adult rowers, they are very keen to increase the number of junior rowers in the club, and to this end they are holding an Open Day at 11am on Saturday, March 26. If you are a child, aged between 10 and 18, and would like to have a go at this ‘oarsome’ sport, please just turn up and introduce yourself and they will get you out in a boat. Free drinks and a BBQ will also be available.
Rowing is a water sport so please bring waterproof footwear and warm clothes, preferably layers as you can get quite warm when rowing.
