Consultant Oncoplastic Breast and Plastic Surgeon
Jacqui joined Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust in 2017 as a Consultant Plastic and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and became Director of Medical Education in 2020.
She is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer (surgical education) at Imperial College, London, an honorary research fellow at the University of Exeter, a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, FRCS (Plast).
Jacqui studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University and won the final year Chemistry Prize for her unique research work. As a Postgraduate at the Royal College of Art and Victoria & Albert Museum, she developed a new method of preserving prints and was awarded the Museums and Galleries commission Innovation Prize for this research. She retrained in medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London and specialising in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Jacqui is currently developing and applying pioneering virtual reality and augmented reality techniques for patients and staff at Torbay Hospital, where she is involved in developing a digital innovations hub. She is currently working on a programme of digital technology projects for trainees with a Masters programme at Plymouth University and her team allow trainees to explore emerging digital technologies and support them in applying these new skills to patient care and education.
