Paignton Bowling Club has been awarded £3,850 to help maintain the green and club premises during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The money for the club, which is now open and hosting a touring side this week, is National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Community Emergency Fund.

A club spokesman said: “We are most grateful to Sport England for their support and financial assistance which will help to ensure the club continues to function in the future.”

The funding is part of Sport England’s £195 million package to help the sport and physical activity sector which are experiencing short-term financial hardship or the ceasing of operations due to the impact of coronavirus.
