Gulls looking to strengthen squad

Torquay United are still trying to strengthen their squad ahead of Saturday's home game against Wrexham but it will hardly be on the same scale as the Hollywood-owned Red Dragons.

National League clubs can keep trading with all but Premier League clubs despite the closure of the January 'window' but few can compete with teams like Wrexham.

On top of several other big-money signings this season, they followed a £300,000 deal for striker Ollie Palmer last week with another six-figure deal for Burton Albion midfielder Tom O'Connor on deadline day.

The Gulls have confirmed that former Plymouth Argyle winger Byron Moore has left at the end of his short-term contract, while Torbay-born Wales and ex-United centre-forward Keiffer Moore has moved from Cardiff City to Championship rivals AFC Bournemouth for an initial £3.5 million.
