Give a song this Valentine’s Day

Torbay Weekly

With Valentine’s Day coming up, there are many things you could do with your loved ones in Devon.

At Torbay Hospital Radio, we will, of course, be celebrating, so why not make a request for the one you love and you can listen to our shows at Torbay Hospital Radio website by selecting the listen live button.

The request can be for someone in hospital or we are just as happy to play a request for a member of the fantastic staff here. Or, we can play something for your loved one, even if they are recuperating at home, just let us know and we will do our best.

So, what about the other things you could consider? Well, how about hitting one of the beaches round and about in South Devon. The English Riviera has 22 miles of coastline and there are 20 beaches and coves or, if you want to go a bit further afield, why not try Bantham or Bigbury.

If the weather allows, a picnic is always a nice way to spend time. Failing that, you should be able to get a cream tea. Yes I know it’s winter, but is there a better way to spend your time?

If you fancy something a little more active, why not try horse riding, there are stables all around the county that offer the opportunity for you to get some proper instruction. If horses are not your thing, there is always shank's pony.

Take a walk along the South-West Coast Path, there are plenty of places you can join, where you can take a relaxing walk along some of the most beautiful coastlines in the UK. Inland, you could pop up to Dartmoor and enjoy the stunning vistas or riverside walks, all just a short drive from Torbay.

For me, I’ll be in the studio on the 14th between 2-4pm, so if you want a tune played then, why not e-mail: and I will be delighted to help you out. Whatever you decide, just remember to give your love this Valentine’s Day. What could be better?
