Former AFC Wimbledon striker Corie Andrews and ex-Plymouth Argyle defender Ollie Tomlinson have become Torquay United manager Gary Johnson’s seventh and eighth signings of the summer.
Both players have been training with the Gulls recently, and their arrivals had been expected.
The pacy Andrews, 24, started his career at Crystal Palace, but he really made his mark for the first time during a loan spell at Aldershot Town last season when he scored nine goals which were key to hauling the Shots out of relegation trouble.
Centre-back Tomlinson, 20, made seven first-team appearances for Plymouth, and Pilgrims boss Steven Schumacher commented recently that the decision to release him had only been taken because he wasn’t quite ready for League One level.
In goal for United in their friendly at Exmouth on Tuesday night was former Cheltenham and Maidenhead player Rhys Lovett, and he remains on trial at Plainmoor
