Dry and a bit on the cold side - but is that drizzle in the air?

Torbay Weekly

Maybe we spoke a little too soon as the English Riviera spans a bank holiday weekend.

Our weather man Mark Rowe’s latest mini-round up of Torbay’s weather talks about dryness – just as it begins to drizzle before the latest holiday break with food and drink businesses enjoying the custom and, of course, sticking to Boris Johnson’s pandemic road map rules.

Former Bay deputy meteorologist Mark compiles his reports with data from Mark Baker, of Oldway.

Up until today (for our April 29 edition) rainfall was just 0.8mm. The last appreciable rainfall was 9mm on March 12.

It makes it the driest April in Torbay since May 1989 which had 1.3mm of the wet stuff.

The month so far has also seen an ‘abundance of sunshine’ according to Mark.

There has been overnight ground frost and even frost away from the coast.  A more detailed report of April’s weather will be published next week.
