Devon Women's Football League: Lucky 13 for Torquay in resounding win over Uni Plymouth

Torbay Weekly

In the Western Division, there were goals galore.

Torquay United Reserves continued their good start to the season with a resounding 13-0 win against Uni Plymouth, which would have been a lot worse, but for the Uni keeper's superb performance.

Abi Scandrett notched a hat-trick, Hannah Rooney, Leanne Robbins and Harriet Bowring grabbed two each, with singles from Natasha Lister, Kelsey Brown and Rachel Fleming.

To make up the unlucky 13, the students even scored an own goal!

Teignmouth Ladies claimed their first points of the season with a 6-1 home over Lakeside Athletic.

Hitting the target for the Teigns were Joanne Wallace (2), Lianne Hamilton (2), Helen Willis (1) and Lauren Hunton (1).

Signal Box also scored six times at home to Plainmoor Ladies, who only managed two in reply.

Vicky Jasper - who else? - bagged another hat-trick, taking her season total to 11 in three games!

Abi White, Jessica Oaten and Abi Smith scored the others. Sam Ungi and Kerry Stapleton replied for the visitors.

Despite another encouraging team performance and an opportunist goal from Lucy Rosser, Shaldon Villa were unable to make home advantage count on their picturesque pitch beside the river Teign.

Goals from Amy Wise, Steph Warren and Carleigh Boyce gave Activate a 3-1 win.
