Cricket summer camps lined up as Barton looks to future stars

Barton Cricket Club are hoping their little 'All Stars' will stay with the Torquay club to become stars of the future.

The ECB All Stars programme for five-to-eight-year-olds officially comes to an end his Friday.

But the club is now encouraging all of them to continue training sessions as part of Barton's club night on a Friday evening,  from 6pm to 7pm. Each session costs £3 per person.

A club spokesman said: "The aim of All Stars is to introduce your little ones to cricket in the hope that they will begin to love the game and want to continue within the normal club sessions. We hope that your All Stars Coaches have achieved this and they all continue to attend our Friday night sessions."

The Cricketfield Road club will also be hosting special summer camps in association with the newly-formed  Riviera Cricket Coaching School.

Club captain and ECB coach Adam Parker is the lead coach at the camps. The sessions will run on Wednesdays from 9am to 3pm between July 28 and August 25 The cost is £15 a session.
