Brixham Town Council is holding a cost of living drop-in centre for residents affected by the cost of living crisis.

Staff and volunteers from various organisations will be on hand on Saturday, July 23, between 10am and midday at Brixham Town Hall to provide practical advice and support.

Ross Green, deputy town clerk, said: “As our community faces unprecedented increases in the cost of living, we’re providing a space for residents to access free impartial advice and support from organisations and groups.

“There is no need to book – people can just drop in.”

In 2020, Brixham town councillors unanimously voted to create a Coronavirus Social Emergency Fund that was available to organisations and groups that supported the most vulnerable members of the community.

The fund is no longer available, however, as the cost of living continues to impact the community, town councillors wants to make sure that again they are supporting residents.

“If you’re worried about the rising cost of living and need advice or support, there are organisations and schemes that could benefit you” said Ross.

“Free tea and coffee will be available during the drop-in, so please come along and have a chat on Saturday, July 23.”
