Buckland hitting road for fifth round of FA Vase

Torbay Weekly

After four successive home draws, Buckland Athletic will hit the road at last when they carry the Devon flag to Newport Pagnell Town in the fifth round of the Buildbase FA Vase next month.

Two Ben Carter goals carried the Yellows past Egham Town (2-1) in a breathless tie at Homers Heath, Newton Abbot, at the weekend, and now they must travel to United Counties League side Newport on February 12.

Both clubs will be trying to repeat their feat of reaching the Quarter-Finals five years ago.

Buckland, sole survivors from the Toolstation Western League, had young striker Charlie Johansen sent off, along with Egham's Trevan Robinson, in stoppage-time.

But Johansen should be back from suspension by the time the Bucks, who are home to Clevedon Town this Saturday, tackle Newport in 'Bucks'.
