Brixham Theatre back in business with celebration of Fleetwood Mac

Brixham Theatre is fighting back after Covid-related cancellations with a Fleetwood Mac tribute.

A theatre spokesperson said: "In company with venues across the country, we have recently had to cancel shows as a result of Covid issues. Our policy is now, no cancellations in the foreseeable future. We simply fight back, carry on and weather the storm.

"Despite the fact Government restrictions in plan B no longer apply, we would like to assure visitors to the theatre that we will do everything possible to provide a safe and pleasant environment."

This resurrection is beginning with a performance by tribute band Fleetwood Mac Songbook on Saturday, February 5.

During their dynamic, hit-packed show, the musicians faithfully recreate favourite songs from the original band’s incredible 50-year career.

They cover material from the 1960s incarnation of Fleetwood Mac following its foundation by, London-based guitarist Peter Green in 1967.

This early period was essentially rooted in blues music.

The line-up of Fleetwood Mac changed several times over the years as, indeed, did their performance style and nature of their music.

The Fleetwood Mac Songbook dips into every era of the band’s development.

Members of the Fleetwood Mac Songbook live in Cornwall and Devon, therefore coming to Brixham is very much like coming home after touring extensively across the UK and performing to sell-out houses.

They are truly passionate about their music and really strive to do justice to their original model.

Getting the right sound and atmosphere is very important. The reward for this attention to detail is a room full of Fleetwood Mac fans singing and dancing to their music.

Fleetwood Mac Songbook are at Brixham Theatre on Saturday, February 5, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 and are available through the box office on 01803 415987 or online at tickets.brixhamtheatre.uk - they can also be bought at Brixham Library during opening hours or in person at the box office on the evening of the event
