Artist Becky 'proud and honoured' to work on sailing events posters

A Torbay artist has been commissioned to produce the official posters for two prestigious sailing events.

Becky Bettesworth says she is both ‘proud and honoured’ to have worked on posters for last weekend’s Sail Grand Prix Global Championships in Plymouth and the national and European Cadet championships hosted by the Royal Torbay Yacht Club.

Guest of honour at the Plymouth world class sailing event was Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, as thousands of people lined the Hoe and other view points to watch the magnificent F50 catamarans racing at impressive speeds.

This week, the Torbay Royal Yacht club will be the venue for the national and European Cadet championships.

There are competitors taking part in this event from around Europe including Ukraine and Becky felt that it would be a nice gesture and acknowledgement to add a Ukraine boat within the picture.

She has also decided that £1 from the sale of each of these posters will be donated to The Unicef Ukraine Crisis Appeal, which helps to support children affected by the Ukraine conflict.

Becky said: “I am so proud to live in the South West and to be asked to create these two event posters for such important local events is an honour and a privilege.”

The posters are available to buy at the events and also through Becky’s website www.beckybettesworth.co.uk
