A brand-new music festival is coming to Torbay

Torbay Weekly

TQ Sun Festival is a two-part event taking place on Torre Abbey green next month.

The festival on Saturday, September 18, will focus on bringing locals of Torbay and the surrounding areas together for a fun-filled, family music festival right in the heart of Torquay.

After travelling around the world for six years, festival organisers Rudi and Becca returned to England and felt like Torquay's festival scene needed a boost after the pandemic had driven the live events industry to a halt.

Becca said: “We travelled for six years around the world and attended so many festivals, came back to England and just felt like Torquay needed a festival!

"If we ever wanted to go to an event, we would always have to travel Bristol to find that kind of events we liked going to, so organising a festival has been in the forefront of our minds for quite a while.

"After the Covid restrictions had eased, we just thought what better time to give this ago and bring Torquay to life again!”

Rudi added: "I have organised events in Belgium, Australia, and New Zealand and I felt like this was the right time to bring a music event to Torquay."

TQ Sun Festival is a festival for all ages, designed to lift Torbay spirits. The event is a family-friendly extravaganza packed with feel-good entertainment, good food and a classic range of drinks, as well as live musical performances from VIP artists and local talent.

The day event will see a bouncy castle village and live entertainment such as magical entertainer Ozzy D and Wizzbang.

The evening line-up includes Torbay favourites New Daze, Bert Miller, Harbour, Elite, DJ Miname – Kognitiv Records, DJ Ranimal and Hedkandi Live as the headliners.
